St. Marguerite Bourgeoys came from France to Canada in 1653.  She started the order of sisters called the Congregation of Notre Dame.  The CNDs are a teaching order.  At the heart of their congregation is the Charism of Visitation Pentecost Spirituality. It is a blessing to be an Associate to the CNDs.  When we think about St. Marguerite, we take a moment to think of a woman who crossed the ocean seven times. Why? “To tell the world that they are loved.” St. Marguerite Bourgeoys heard the words “Go, I will not abandon you”. Urged on by the words of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Marguerite gave her all, knowing she was never alone. “I always felt that besides all the other gifts of life I still had another recourse which God was kind enough to give me: the help of the Blessed Virgin” (St. Marguerite – Little Book of Marguerite Bourgeoys).
