Mission Statement: “We, the family of God in Our Lady of Peace parish – a Eucharistic community, exist to praise and serve our God by living our call to proclaim the gospel.”

Fr. Luke Tran – Associate Administrator
Back in early 2015, God led me to leave a secure and comfortable life and follow Him into something uncertain. I knew almost nothing about Canada—its culture, its customs, or its people. But when I said yes to God’s call, I experienced a deep sense of peace.
Arriving in Canada in July 2017, already at the age of 31, I spent two years volunteering in the Diocese of Saskatoon, getting to know the people and learning about the life of the Church there. From 2019 to 2023, I studied at Christ the King Seminary in Mission, BC. I was ordained a deacon on April 19, 2024, and on October 18, 2024, the feast of St. Luke, my patron saint, Bishop Mark ordained me a priest for the Diocese of Saskatoon.
Like most people, I do not really enjoy being moved from one place to another. But God’s ways are normally not our ways. He brought me from a small tropical country to this vast land with its long and cold winters. Before coming to Canada, I had never seen snow and had never experienced temperatures below zero. Now, I not only see snow—I have learned how to live with snowstorms.
Through all these changes, God has shown me again and again that He never abandons me. Wherever He sends me, He provides. He makes His presence known through the kindness and generosity of His people. Over the years, I have come to realize that wherever God sends me becomes my home, and the people I meet become my family. From a stranger I become their son, their brother, and they become part of my life.
I am looking forward to serving God and His people at Our Lady of Peace parish. May God bless us as one family, and may we work together to build our parish into a true family of God.
